Smaller 909 manual : Hi-hat
The 909 hi-hat sounds are digital samples of a closed and open hi-hat, with decay knobs to change the decay.
One octave of closed hi-hats, one octave of open hi-hats. Each key has a different decay knob setting. This makes it easy to create hi-hat patterns with for example two different closed hi-hat decays.
The keys without hi-hat sounds have a special function: They mute the hi-hat sound. Use them to mute the open hi-hat with silence instead of the closed hi-hat.
