Smaller 909 manual : Crash and ride cymbals
The 909 crash and ride cymbals are digital samples, with a tune knob that changes the pitch of the sample.
The crash and ride cymbal programs have the original pitches (that you can tune in on a real 909) centered around C3, from F#2 to F#3.
The pitch bend range is +-6 semitones. To simulate the sound of turning the tune knob on the 909, play the C3 crash/ride and use the pitch bend as the tune knob.
Keys below C1 have a special function: they mute the crash/ride sound.
